Welcome back to our new updated format for EAA Vintage Aircraft Association’s Vintage AirMail e-Newsletter. Our newseltter team has worked for several months to update and modernize our AirMail format to make it easier for you to read and enjoy.

2016 is certainly shaping up to be yet another banner year for the VAA. Your Board of Directors met in Oshkosh on Thursday November 5th. This was one of the most productive Fall Board sessions we have ever conducted. We had great discussions on everything from Youth in Aviation initiatives to AirVenture 2016 features and attractions.

In the midst of all these discussions it was suggested that the Board consider conducting a winter session of the Board of Directors (read more about the upcoming meeting and open Town Hall). Winter Board Meetings used to be the norm many years ago but they were eliminated due to budget challenges we experienced back in the day. Then one Director after another stated that they would be happy to cover all their own expenses for the opportunity to have an additional Meeting for planning and brainstorming! Fellow Board Members Susan Dusenbery and Ron Alexander suggested that we hold the Winter Board Meeting at the Candler Field Museum in Williamson Georgia just south of the Atlanta.

From there it was suggested that we conduct an old fashioned Town Hall Meeting and invite all of the EAA and VAA Members from around the area to attend and share their thoughts and ideas with the leadership. The idea kept growing and we invited the CEO of EAA, Mr. Jack Pelton, to join us and participate in the Town Hall. We were delighted to learn that Jack has accepted our invitation to attend this event on Saturday February 27th at 1:00 pm, followed by a mingle and mix reception at 3:00 pm. The reception will immediately follow the Town Hall Session so all attendees will have some “one on one” time with the Leadership of EAA and Vintage. So, save he date and feel free to attend this unique get together. You are welcome to fly or drive to the event. The Airport is Peach State Aerodrome – GA2. Hope to see you there!

Remember, It is never too early to begin your planning to attend the “World’s Greatest Aviation Event”.

Thanks for being a Member, and we hope to see you at Oshkosh 2016, July 25th. Through July 31st.

Always remember, we are better together. Join us and have it all.

Yes, the adventure lives on!
