9:00 AM – Pilot Professionalism: How Small Changes Can Make a Big Impact
Location: Vintage Hangar
Presented by Katherine Wilson
We often hear the phrase “Don’t sweat the small stuff.” But when it comes to aviation safety, the “small stuff” can have a big impact. We will review accident case studies that demonstrate how small changes toward professionalism could have prevented a tragedy. This forum is presented by Katherine Wilson, a senior human performance investigator at the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) who has been with the agency since 2008. She holds a Ph.D. in Applied Experimental and Human Factors Psychology from the University of Central Florida, a M.S. in Modeling and Simulation from the University of Central Florida, and a B. S. in Aerospace Studies from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. This forum is available for FAA Wings credit.

11:00 AM – A Five-Minute Walk Around of a Fabric Piper
Location: Vintage Hangar
Presented by Clyde Smith
Clyde Smith, “The Cub Doctor,” will present his famous safety walk around of the fabric Piper, but will be helpful for any aircraft preflight inspection. This hour-long program will cover how to make sure your aircraft is safe to fly every time you prepare to aviate, as well as look at common problems and solutions to many of the maintenance oriented issues of the fabric Piper family. Clyde loves answering questions, so bring them to this forum! To hear even more Cub discussion, be sure to attend the Piper Cub Club Forum directly prior to this forum at 10:00 AM.

Type Clubs can help save you money, keep you from making mistakes others have already made, show you how to restore, maintain and fly your airplane – in short, they can provide the equivalent of many years of hard won experience at a very low cost!
